The shooting process: from idea to shot

  1. Preparation                                                                                                                                                                Before each shoot I prepare thoroughly:
    • Idea and concept. It is important to understand what the client wants. It could be a story, an emotion or a certain mood.
    • Location: The choice of location plays a key role. I study the lighting, textures and atmosphere of the space in advance.
    • Equipment: I use professional cameras, lenses and lighting equipment to achieve the best results.
  2. During filming
    • Communication: I try to create a comfortable atmosphere so that the models feel relaxed
    • Playing with light. I use both natural light and additional sources to create depth and mood.
    • Details. I focus on the little things that make a shot come alive: gestures, glances, textures of clothes or decorations.
    • Creativity. I experiment with angles, perspective and shooting techniques.

Photo processing

After shooting, an equally important stage begins — post-processing:

  • Selection of shots. I choose the best photos, taking into account composition, emotions and technical quality.
  • Color correction. I make photos harmonious, emphasize the necessary accents.
  • Retouching. I remove minor defects, preserving naturalness.
  • Finalization. I bring the photo to a finished look that matches the shooting style.

How I Store Photos

  1. Primary stage.                                                                                                                                                           After shooting, all files are immediately copied to several storage media to eliminate the risk of data loss.
  2. Cloud storage.                                                                                                                                                            I use proven services to create backup copies. This allows you to quickly restore data, even if something happens to the equipment.
  3. File organization.
    • Each project is stored in a separate folder with a clear structure: source files, processed кадры, готовые версии.
    • All folders are labeled with the date and project name.
  4. Long-term storage.
    • I use high quality external hard drives.
    • Once every few years I transfer data to new media to avoid the risk of failure of old equipment.
  5. Transfer to clients.
    • Processed photos are transferred via secure cloud services or on physical media. .
    • At the client’s request, I can save the archive of the shooting for a certain period of time.

Why do I feel this way about storing photos?

Every photo is more than just a file. It is a memory, a story, an emotion. I believe that a photographer’s responsibility is not only to create beautiful shots, but also to preserve them. With proper organization and care for the data, my clients can be sure that their moments will stay with them for many years.

Photography is an art and its preservation is a science.
